Water and Sanitation Project at Ngog Mba

Out of service well

Ngog Mba is situated approximately 140 kilometers from Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Covering an area of 36 km², the village is home to 980 residents living in 340 households. Over 30 years ago, a shallow well was constructed in Ngog Mba to provide water to the community. However, for the past decade, the well has been non-functional, leaving the entire village without access to clean water for 10 years.

This Water and Sanitation project aims to directly and immediately benefit the 980 residents of Ngog Mba by providing them with clean water. It will also have a significant impact on the 60 students attending the village’s only elementary school, ensuring they have access to clean water and modern, water-powered sanitation facilities.

The image below shows the 30-year-old shallow well in Ngog Mba, which has been out of service for the past decade.

The goal of the project is to construct six wells and public sanitation facilities, while also connecting these wells to the homes of residents. This initiative aims to provide reliable access to clean water and modern sanitation for the entire community of Ngog Mba, significantly improving their quality of life.
